Does anyone know anything about this intake? There is a combo package that includes an SCT X3 and it is $555... it seems like a good deal since buying a Airforce I intake and a SCT X3 by themselves will run me closer to $700... if anyone has info just let me know

When you pay the 555 for the combo deal, you are paying about 450-475 for the X3 and tunes and the rest is for the worthless intake. The whole point of a CAI is to get more air into the engine and to get the air from the coolest place possible. The JLT intake is just a short piece of tubing that places the filter right above the serpentine belt and the surrounding air is heated from the radiant heat coming off the engine, so the JLT is not really worth the 50-75 bucks you are paying for it. The JLT intake looks like something a stupid a$$ hillbilly came up with. Oh, and the 25-30 hp they claim is all from the tune, I doubt you will see any from the intake.
Also, the JLT flows more air than the stock intake, therefore you have to have a tune to adjust the mass air transfer function or you will run lean and throw a code, so don't try to run it without a tune to see if you get any gains from the intake alone.
On another note, if you can't afford the extra buck and a half for an X3 and an air force one combo, then maybe you need to get one at a time. Buy the intake first, then when funds allow get a tuner.

yeah i figured it wasn't worth anything... didn't seem like it would work to me but thought it was worth asking. I'll go ahead and spend the extra buck and get the X3 with an air force I and a VPM custom tune. thanks for the input.
