Black Chrome tips

This week i am getting dual exhaust put on. I have a silver 99 f-150 and am planning on having it exit out at the corners at a 45 degree. I have a flowmaster muffler to put on that is single in dual out. The tips that i was looking at are black chrome. how will these look and hold up compared to regular stainless tips? I live in Iowa so they will be a little exposed to rocks from gravel roads and salt in the winter. I was hoping that going at the corners that my mud flaps will help protect them a little more.

Any tip that is chrome will rust in a matter of time, and its worst if you have a big winter season. I would get stainless steel, and try and paint it yourself.

You can get "black chrome" stainless tips. It's just a different color/finish. They're pretty sharp looking. I know Silverline makes some black chrome stainless tips...

As long as they're stainless steel they'll hold up great in winter. Just curious, what part of Iowa are you in?
