Rear Cat Delete, I want the facts.

Yes, I've searched and just found mixed answers.

I've got an 06 5.4.

I just want to know:

1) How much do MIL eliminators for the 02 sensors cost?
2) Power loss/increase?
3) How much louder?

Thanks.

performance gain would be minimal if its just the stock exhaust, you certianly wouldn't lose anything. as for how loud it is, it'll change but i dont think it'd be a HUGE amount, but you'd notice it.

You think.

Thanks for the input but I want the facts from someone who has done it.

And I have a 3" cat back.

well unless theres a reason for taking it off...probably not many people have done it since theres no performance benefit. restrictions would be in the stock manifold more so than a cat. if you already have a 3'' catback, taking out a cat wouldn't make it really any louder than it already is. but back to my first point, i don't see a need in taking it off as you won't gain anything.

if you want it to be loud, get headers and if you don't need emissions testing then don't bother having cats, other than that get high-flow ones and it'll be like a racecar.

I have an 03 xlt and i cut my cats off and have the 40 series flows and I noticed power gains in my high end power. As far as sound goes it made it much louder and increased the rasp bigtime ,i love it.

I have a 04sCrew and we removed all cats from the headers back. Noticed a loss in Torque on the low end, but a noticeable gain in the higher top end of things.
I installed MILs to remove the check engine light and it made the truck insanely loud and raspy. we have a magnaflow catback.
