Anyone have they"re truck straight piped?

Does any one have ther're truck straight piped, i know its illegal to do it, but i was just wondering if it sounds good, or if it isnt a good idea. i got a 98 f150 4.6L V8. i just bought shorty headers for it but dont have them on yet... and my exhaust is stock until where the muffler is supposed to be(it isn't there now) then dualed out at 45s with 3.5" outlet, 18" long tips.
