Banks Stinger Kit - Opinions

Whats your opinion of the Banks Stinger Kit. I am thinking of the SISO exhaust and the CAI system for my 2004 5.4L. Everything is stock so far and it is used as a dailey driver and tow vehicle. Does anyone have any experience with this exhaust and could give me an idea of how loud it is compared with others. I have heard that it is simiar to the sound of a stock Mustang. I have not found any examples on youtube, etc., for this particular setup.

I personally believe Banks exhaust belongs on Diesels... Doesn't sound that great to me on the Triton engines.

Of course to each their own, but here is why I finally just bought a Banks Stinger System (will get the torque tubes later). I considered all the different exhaust, intake and custom tune choices. I wanted something that was designed to work together and would provide support if there were any issues. My truck is a daily driver and I am not looking to squeeze every last HP out of it, esp. up high where the truck rarely goes.

There was an episode of Trucks in October of '06 that did an install of the entire kit, even the supercharger and all of Banks rwhp claims are right on the money.

I have seen the Banks stuff and it is top quality. I am really surprised that more folks do not use it.

I have the siso kit and like it vary much. It has a drone at 65 but goes away after that! BUT i have the HD so 4:10 gears = higher RPM. Sound wide open is SWEET

Finally had a chance to respond to this thread. I have not driven F150s with other systems, so I have nothing else to compare it to other than my stock truck, but I am impressed with the system.

First of all,the up front stuff from the sales support to the packaging of the parts was great. The instructions were straight forward with plenty of details and pictures.

The fit and finish on all the parts was factory perfect. I was absolutely amazed when I installed the exhaust and did not have to mess around to get the tailpipe adjusted like I have had to do with other vendors on other installs I have done. Everything lined up perfectly. I have the SISO with the OVAL 4" tip and it looks like a diesel exhaust, which I like

The exhaust is quiet at idle but wakes up as soon as you get on it and there is no drone at the usual 1800-2000 RPM range on the highway. The throttle response is greatly improved and the truck pulls harder throughout the RPM range and definitely out of the hole.

The other thing that really surprised me is that shifts were quicker due the extra power and no, the programmer does nothing to change shift points or increase the firmness of the shifts. I would not want the trans shifting any harder than it already does.

I bought the system from Banks and paid $1242, plus free shipping, which I did not think was a bad deal. Over the winter, I am going to get the torque tubes, which is supposed to add another 22 rwhp.

As I mentioned, for me, I was looking for something reliable and was designed to work together.
