Not dumb, my setup will be stainless x, and stainless mufflers, with stainless tips, and crush bent aluminized tubing. No one in my area does stainless or mandrel bends so I'm S.O.L. But no hard feelings, I was just kidding. The bullet is a small resonator type muffler. Summit sells them for like $41, but a complete swap would prob. be the best thing for ya. It is an expensive fix, but well worth it, performancepeddler.com has the best deal on mufflers, and they offer a discount for members I believe.

I have one on my '01 with side exits and it's great, i'd swap for a 50 series if I was BIGSUR

I will consider that. Hey, are there any related forums for advertising used parts? I may have a 1-day old Super40 for sale It depends, if the dealer can do an even swap for a Super 50, I may do that for now. Pocket is starting to get dry. Just spent $500+ on an aftermarket sound system as well. I've only had the truck for 2 weeks.

That will definitely be my first choice, if possible. With the Super 50, as far as you know, is the drone eliminated or just not as noticeable?

If I decide to go Magnaflow, I will look into the classifieds.

Thanks to everyone for their input. Very much appreciated. I love these darn forums.

Just a little clarification, there is no 'Super 50' Its just called the 50 series. Flowmaster's line of universal mufflers perfect for trucks is 40 series Delta, Super 40, Super 44, 50 series Delta, 70 series Delta. The 50 series will be much quieter like Magnaflow is, but it will give you that nice Flowmaster tone.

Question Super 40 Fuel Economy Drop

Hey guys. I'm noticing something crazy since my FM Super40 Install. Before the install, my computer-estimated mpg was very stable with minimal changes, unless going b/w highway and city.

Now, if I'm sitting at a stop seeing 14.5 mpg, get on it until at about 50 mph, my economy will drop to about 13.9. Once I let off the accelerator, it starts slowly creeping back up.

Anybody out there know if this is typical???
