Question fishforem

I have a 1988 ford f150 5.0L lariat with dual exhaust could this be factory? I need catalytic converters for it to meet emission standards.
any thoughts are appreciated.

also is could a stepside bed be standard. i got the tuck from my dad who has alzheimers he bought it used. it had been sitting for 5 years when i got it.

i want to fix it up and keep it in his memory.

Yes the stepside bed is a factory option. But in 1988 the "flareside" option was dropped. Maybe yours is a 1987 build ? I would check the build date.

Is it carb or fuel injection ??

I would guess the exhuast is aftermarket, but am unsure. Maybe someone else knows ???

Sorry to hear about your Pops. Really. But I am glad you have plans to keep his truck going. Thats a real great thing for you to do !

fuel injested

it is fuel injected. i have replaced both gas tanks (rusted inside). replaced both intank fuel pumps. run lots of cleaner through fuel system. run motor flush through oil and changed oil twice. of course replaced plugs wires, etc.
it runs great.

still needs power window motor for drivers side. power door locks not getting power to them. cruise control will not cut out when brake pushed. all ptty stuff but will be fixed.
