BOTH sides of your battery IMO. They say just the negative will reset, it might, but why take chances ? That's up to you. The TPS,trans, converter, trims, tables, etc - To much relies on that sensor to screw around. Reset the KAM -Reboot the PCM , then you know you covered your a$$..

You take care of your MAF - Let it take of you - Reboot so it can

Ok I thought rebooting the PCM (disconnecting battery and turning on headlights did just that (reboot) and also reset the KAM, or am I wrong? Thought 1 power disconnect reset everything?

I just pulled the positive cable off, went to lunch for about an hour, came back and flipped the lights on (no kill like overkill) and hooked everything back up. It sure reset something, it acted quite differently until I got it whupped back into shape.

Once you pull one cable off your electrical system is dead, pulling both off won't really accomplish anything more aside from kill more time.

you should pull the negative instead so you don't ground it out and zap yourself

Never ever do that ^^^^ - You blow your battery up - DO NOT LISTEN TO 02XLT4X4's POST You could very easily end up in the hospital - loosing your vision - disfigured etc - DON'T DO THAT!

ALWAYS connect the positive cable first , THEN the neg . I can't believe that sh^t post! Gonna get someone hurt !!

Yea , just pull the Negative if your not sure.

You don't sit there going "tee hee look at the pretty sparkies" Just slip it on quickly and don't fart around doing it. I haven't had a problem yet.

The positive first is the right way to do it, but I haven't had a problem with this just for resetting the computer or so it won't drain the battery as it sits (on my tractors). With a battery charger no doubts go positive first, but it isn't exactly like you are pulling the pin on a grenade for just resetting the computer.

You have to give it time to dump memory - turning the lights on supposedly reduces that time. It bleeds the capacitor for the KAM memory.

I never did that myself, I just let it sit for 20 minutes.

Give it time and it will happen.

I've heard it and seen it right after it happened. It's sounds like a shotgun. The guy was lucky - he went right to the eye wash station - didn't loose any vision - but had a large chunk of battery casing wedged between his knuckles. That was nasty. Respect the battery - Don't learn the hard way.

Spend some time in construction (Commerical Carpentry), and watch stupid NEW skytrack driver swapping batteries. Holding a METAL roll cage, standing in a puddle, and throwing positive cable on LAST. You hear a sizzle, POP, and poor boy is layin on his **** twitching. Coulda killed him, and hurt people around him. Don't be that guy!

Ok guys, this thread is confusing to me a guy that has never put an intake on a vehicle. So is the general consensus that on the 5.4 three valve it is a bad idea to open the intake to the 3 inch size in the fender???? If so I will take that tube out and reinstall the original end piece. I will be honest I didnt think about it running lean. But since it is sucking air, will it really get that much more air???

Quick answer is if you have a 5.4L 3V, don't mess with the air intake unless you're getting an AF1 or Airraid (I think Airraid was the other brand that didn't lean out the motor), or custom tunes.
