question about glasspacks

Does anybody have a sound clip of a 5.4 with glasspacks? They seem like a really cheap alternative to a flowmaster but i want to know if i'm sacrificing much sound quality. I used to have a 4.6 with 40 series flowmaster and i want my new truck a little louder but not that screaming high pitched sound i hear on some trucks. So basically i want to hear or atleast someone describe to me the volume/tone/pitch of glasspacks and which brands. Thank you.

I have put about 8k on my Thrush's after 6 months and they still sound the exact same as when I got them. They usually last for years on my dad's service trucks before the stuffing blows out, I am not worried about them.

Mine has a nice deep burble at idle, and isn't afraid to speak up if you drop the hammer, but all and all still isn't obnoxiously loud. You just have a nice rumble at highway speeds, fairly easy to overpower comfortably talking in the cab or with the radio. I have the stock cats hooked up to 2.25 true duals with Thrush glasspacks, and 18" slash cut stainless Magnaflow tips going out the back. My truck also has a 5.4.

As far as sound quality goes I havn't found its equal, thats just my .02

yeah i put a true dual sysyem, on my 5.4L, with the cheapest glasspacks i could find. Absolutly love the sound. I actually will spray some cold water on the glasspacks when the exhaust is hott to burn up the fiberglass beads. I did that and a buddy of mine threw true duals with dual flowmaster super 40's on his 5.4L, and mine blows his away. Go with the glasspacks, you wont be dissappointed, as long as you like a classic truck sound

My friend has a '00 5.4 with true dual and 18" glass packs. Not as loud as my true dual straight pipes, but still has a very nice aggressive tone.
