new exhaust
new exhaust
i have an appointment to have new exhaust put on next week and had a few questions. i have a 2003 F150 with the 5.4 in it and was going to run no muffler duels and dump them right after the back axle. do i need to have a H pipe put in to keep from losing HP or Torque? also is this setup going to super loud? will the in cab noise be bad? if yall could help that would be awsome. thanks.

Magnaflows from what I read on this fourm have very low in cab noise!!
Not sure about when you dump them though...
The guy that did mine said an H pipe or X pipe was not necessary on new vehicles and that I wouldn't notice any difference with one on so I did not put one on my truck. I have mine straight piped right out to the back bumper and it is loud when you have your leg in it but when your driving calm it is not too bad. There is increased cab noise but IMO it is not too bad. I was told at the shop that I might lose a slight amount of torque but gain some horse power above the 50 kmh mark from opening it up. I personally did not notice any torque loss but it did give me more pep when you stand on it. The more exhaust you have the less noise you will have so if you dump it at the back axle it will be louder than the set up I have.
