On my last two Fords (01' Expedition & '07 F150) the factory air cleaner assemblies are similar. Attached/formed into the tubes leading to the air cleaner elements are, for lack of a better word, weird shaped "chamber" about 8" long. They cut into the tube just about where it takes a 90 degree turn toward the element. Anyone know what purpose this serves.
