Exhaust Suggestions

I just bought a 2006 F-150 with the 5.4L Engine and Supercab, 2WD, XLT. I'm looking for an exhaust mod. I'm not into flashy, I'd like it to run along where the stock one does now, single side, rear exit.

I'm open to just about any approach, exhaust shop, kit, etc. I like loud, but not offensive, and sporty, Mustang like would be good. I definitely want to be heard, just not scowled at, lol.

Any suggestions from folks that have already traveled down this road?

Thanks

my corsa si/so just got here and i think it fulfills all that you want. moss motors still has them on clearance. it's almost too good to be true.

I went with the Borla SI/SO and couldn't be happier!

The Corsa or Magnaflow would definitely be others to look at. Just stay away from Flowmaster.

Flowmasters are cheap, for a reason. Aluminized rather than stainless steel.

Also, they are not a straight-through design. They use a system of baffles to produce a loud tone, which while it sounds nice (meaning LOUD!), robs the engine of low-end torque and gas mileage.

They're basically just a cheap, loud system.

Almost anything is better..

here you go buddy. looks like they've run out of the one i got for the 2004's, the si/so with dual 4'' tips. but the other systems are still on clearance as well. make sure you get the right one for your model year. just got mine put on yesterday and it's amazing in quality and sound. enjoy!

Your description of what you want sounds just like what I was looking for... I went with the MagnaFlow pn: 12259 muffler with 3" exhaust... the sound is a nice rumble when accelerating but none of the 'drone' that I've heard others have... on the highway when up to speed it is quiet... only on accel do you get a good deep sound... and at idle you get a great tone as well... people do notice it, but it isn't annoying... I have a couple pics in my gallery of it... I had a few quotes at some local muffler shops and found a decent price and went with it... they had the pre-bent, ready-to-go Mandrel bend pipe as well...

Magnaflow 12259 Desc:
(Desc: Stainless Steel Muffler; 5 x 8 in. Oval Body; 3 in. Inlet/Outlet; Offset Inlet/Center Outlet; 18 in. Body Length; 24 in. Overall Length)
