Post them here, I'm in the market to get one and I don't kno crap about exhaust systems! I'm looking to get just the muffler. I like the sound of Flo-Pro in this video:

Any specific type of muffler? Just go out and get one and slap it on? I was maybe thinking that they had to be the right lenth, and tube diameter and inlet/outlet position, etc?...
the dimensions must be correct as far as inlet size and whether its offset or not. but the length doesnt matter. when i got my exhaust i already had 2.5 piping stock so instead of buying the whole catback i just bought the muffler and had an exhaust shop weld it it. the muffler was about half the size as stock so they had to weld some new pipe in place but no big deal. general rule when it comes to length is that the shorter the muffler the louder it is. i have a 14" magnaflow and its loud but not straight pipe loud
for v6 muffler..while i dont have one personaly i have done alot of research on them. for sound-flowmaster...they sound the most v8 like and have a nice deep tone...however you will loose a little torque cause of the baffles in the flowmaster- for performance-magnaflow or flowtech warlock muffler.
thats pretty much the consensus on other sites as well as ive seen.

IMO STOP DONT DO IT if you want an exhaust buy a v8 my friend had a ranger with exhaust it was the funniest thing ever I would not ride in it might as well buy a ricer although my last f-150(03 supercab flareside) had a v6 and looked into an exhaust after hearing his it changed my mind real quick i would stay away

as long as your not going for a V8 sound then itll sound great. if you try to make a V6 sound like a V8 of course its gunna sound like crap. but if your just looking to get a little growl then go for it. iv heard alot of V6 sound great due to the owner knowing its not a V8 and not trying to make it sound like one. go with magnaflow or gibson. both make great exhausts for the V6. you wont be sorry
The muffler on an F-150 is about 2.5' long. Seriously. Get whatever size muffler you want, then an exhaust will weld it up for you. Don't worry about offset and such, just worry about the inlet size. Should be 2.5" ID. And unless you want your truck to sound ricey, keep a quiet muffler on it (big Maggy, Gibson, etc).
