Any reason for the preference? I'm currently running Flowmaster and would like to know what I'm missing out on

I have Magnaflow 24" with 3" from the cat back and very happy with it. Good sound outside and can hear it under acceleration but quiet cruising at freeway speeds.

I was looking at the 18" when I went into the muffler shop for installation and the guy that owned the shop suggested 24" He said it sounds just about the same on the outside due to it's almost straight through design but is considerably quieter inside.

magnaflow typically provides a couple more ponies for peak horsepower, which is why people like it for performance. i personally run flowmasters because its sounds a ton better. ill take the better sound over 2-3 hp.

hey built, is there such a thing as exhuast kits with pre bent pipes but no muffler? cause i need some tubing for my truck but i have two dynomax bullet mufflers that i want to put on with my headers and cats. or would it just be easier to have a local exhaust shop bend the pipes and attach the mufflers?

18" if you're not big on the noise.

Not to start any bashing(although yes im biased to magnaflow)
Ive seen many articles online that magnaflow gives both performance and nice sound
Flowmaster is all noise with no HP gain-possible loss of it

another vote for magnaflow

Yeah I guess that's why most 8-9 second racecars have Flowmasters!
Those cars are slow as Hell.

ya. those cars have twice the hp. a muffler isn't going to make a difference for them.oh, and they are cars, not trucks. i have a flowmaster and a cutout. my truck runs alot better and quicker with the cutout open. the Slowmaster is deff. making it slower. i would listen to Built, he has had more exhaust set ups than anyone on this site. and he knows what he is talking about when it comes to being fast or slow.
