the same principles still apply.

Over your stock muffler you aren't gonna really gain anything or lose anything with the flowmaster as it has baffles in it restricting air flow. In alot of cases it may free up power but in some there is no real difference. the magnaflow will typically see small gains as it is a straight through design not really restricting air flow all that much.

I have a hard time believing anyone would be able to feel 6.5 ft lbs. on a 6000lb truck...

i have had magnaflow and ive had flowmaster. Personally i like flowmaster, but you can put a tractor muffler on for all it matters. Bottom line, its your truck and you pay the bills, so do what you want/ like and dont worry about HP and track times unless your truck will ever see a drag strip.

but if you want sound, i just put on a super 44 from flowmaster, check the exaust forum for the thread.

As a former Flowmaster owner, I can honestly say one thing:

BUY MAGNAFLOW!!!

I just added a 14" SI/DO with two high flow Magnaflow cats and the setup is far better performing than the 40 Series Flowmaster. The 14" gives you a more aggressive exhaust tone than a 40 Series, but it does not drone nearly as bad in the cab. If you want aggressive sound and the performance to boot, Magnaflow is the way to go!
