when i build mine, i'm using this controller:

i got the link on here from another poster who said it's much more robust than the ones with the troyer kit. supposedly the controller and relays are what burns up. not sure if relays will be necessary with this controller.

edit: SPAL fans sound impressive as hell, but man they're expensive. the WYSCO fans do sound a little too good to be true though. i'd hate to be on the side of the road b/c of a dead fan.
