Roush Off-Road Dual Set Up Legal In Illinois?

I read in another forum thread that this system may be illegal in strict emission states and I know Illinois is pretty strict on emissions.

Anyone know if the dual Roush system is legal in Illinois? It sounds SOOOOOOO good and if it's legal, I'm buying it!

I don't see why it wouldn't be legal since it's after the catalytic converters....hence cat-back exhaust.

We don't have inspections in MI though, so I don't know anything about them. You'll love the Roush, it's perfect.

I know for a fact they verify your cats and yes, I'll be leaving those on. Could it be that the muffler allows more crap to flow through it? I would just hate to buy it & install it only to have it fail emissions.

You bring up a great point though, it's still just a cat back system. Why wouldn't it be legal?

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about it. The same emissions will come out of the stock muffler as the Roush. That big *** stock muffler is just for sound deadening. As long as you don't mess with the cats or O2 sensors you should be fine.

If I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will clear it up.

I think that exhaust law in Illinois has more to do with sound level. I'd check into it.

Ok, then I'm not worried about it. I've been here my whole life and have heard all variations of sound levels on cars. Looks like I get to pick me up a new exhaust in a couple weeks.

Merry Xmas to me, Merry Xmas to me!
