Magnaflow cat-back on...very impressed!

Put this on Saturday, love it! You guys were right about the sound and quality of the Magnaflow kit. I didn't want duals so I got the single out kit. Nice 3" mandrel bent stainless tubing, big 4" tip and it sounds incredible! I got some stainless band clamps and used them instead of the U-bolt clamps and it turned out great. Amazing how huge and heavy the stock muffler is. I did manage to get the entire stock exhaust out in one peice, just had to jack up the rear of the truck some to roll it over a little to slide it out. Only took about 2 hours and that was due to taking a few beer breaks, talking to my neighbor, and fighting with that damn stock clamp Ford uses on the cat-coverter pipe. Pretty easy job overall though.

I'll try. Been having trouble with our video camera software. Takes a weird, roundabout process to upload it to the computer.

Very nice!! Thats my next mod. Was it a clean install or did you have to fart around with it to get it to fit?

Nope, it went right in and lined right up with very little problems. They engineered the kit well. Obviously it's a good idea to lube up the rubber hangers (I simply used some Dawn dish soap) to make the process easier. The instructions don't show which way the muffler is orientated under the truck but it only takes a look to see which way the offset inlet goes. Besides that just some simple aligning before clamping everthing down tight is all it takes. Like I said I upgraded to band clamps insstead of using the U-bolt clamps and I think it makes for a better looking job and they seal better. My OEM exhaust was fairly easy to get out since the truck only has about 950 miles on it but it's a little bit difficult to get it loose from the cat-converter pipe. That clamp Ford uses in this spot is tack welded on the top to the exhaust pipe so you can't slide it back to get the pipe loose and if you accidently bend it a little it is nearly impossible to get that bolt in it lined back up. Took a minute, but I got it. There is probably a better trick to it that I didn't know about.

These mufflers are hard to beat. I wouldn't put anything else on my vehicles.

Very nice looking!!

I had 11k miles when I put on my Borla and that clamp at the cat you talked about had me stumped for about 20 minutes.. there was just no budging the sucker..

So my answer was the good ol' sawzall..

Two minutes and it was free..

That is correct. And someone asked what I paid for it...found an Ebay store that was selling them for $429 brand new in the box with free shipping. Pretty much the best deal I could find. And yes, the tip is welded on. That's fine with me, I like the way it looks.

BTW, I got a 2-1/2" stainless band clamp to replace that PITA original Ford clamp on the cat converter pipe. It was leaking just a little where I had messed up the clamp a little and now it is nice and tight, no leaks.

Nice I have the same one, wish it was a little louder but still a good system.
