Magnaflow cat-back on...very impressed!
Magnaflow cat-back on...very impressed!
Put this on Saturday, love it! You guys were right about the sound and quality of the Magnaflow kit. I didn't want duals so I got the single out kit. Nice 3" mandrel bent stainless tubing, big 4" tip and it sounds incredible! I got some stainless band clamps and used them instead of the U-bolt clamps and it turned out great. Amazing how huge and heavy the stock muffler is. I did manage to get the entire stock exhaust out in one peice, just had to jack up the rear of the truck some to roll it over a little to slide it out. Only took about 2 hours and that was due to taking a few beer breaks, talking to my neighbor, and fighting with that damn stock clamp Ford uses on the cat-coverter pipe. Pretty easy job overall though.

Thats my next mod. Was it a clean install or did you have to fart around with it to get it to fit?

I had 11k miles when I put on my Borla and that clamp at the cat you talked about had me stumped for about 20 minutes.. there was just no budging the sucker..
So my answer was the good ol' sawzall..
Two minutes and it was free..

BTW, I got a 2-1/2" stainless band clamp to replace that PITA original Ford clamp on the cat converter pipe. It was leaking just a little where I had messed up the clamp a little and now it is nice and tight, no leaks.
