Magnaflow or Flowmaster?

I have a 05 FX4 SCAB with 305X65X18 BFG Tires and 18X10 wheels. I leveled the truck and want to now put a nice exhaust system on. I am torn between the Magnaflow and Flowmaster versions. I want the Flowmaster 44 to split 45 degrees out the back. I was told that a setup of the Flowmaster and an AF1 intake is not advisable. Now I don't know where to go now. I don't want to be stuck with something that sucks and I have to put more money in to fix it. Please advise what you would pick and why. I really want to have a nice sounding truck.

Why limit your choices. There's Borla, Roush, Corsa, etc. I chose Roush.

Any straight through muffler would be the way to go.

I have a magnaflow catback system and i am impressed with it.
Once it was 'broke' in it sounds good.
I have a friend who had a flowmaster and had problems with the muffler rusting out.

$425 at www.hottexhaust.com

enter coupon code: fordtruck8

it worked a year and half ago, not sure if it still does!!

i have the flow super44 and i have more torque then ill ever need. I also have a CAI and troyer's tunes.

If you want straight through, go with dynomax bullets, i may eventually switch to them.

I recommend the Magnaflow. I've had my fair share of Flowmaster mufflers on previous trucks and the Maggie out performs them without a doubt. They sound really good, have minimal interior resonance, and there is no loss of bottom end torque. I don't care how good something sounds if it decreases performance, especially when it comes to pulling a trailer then it's not worth it.

lol. had to throw sumthin out there.

my torque is from tunes, not my exhaust. But also, a muffler is not going to make or break your truck. You might get 3 more hp with a magnaflow, cool. In my opinion they dont sound good, i want to sound good AND perform well, and right now thats exactly how im doing

Ok, just got home from work.

Does the Magnaflow 40 have a low bass sound or is it crackle. I want a system that will give the lower bass sound. Sure, I understand that it matters about performance first, but like it was discussed, mufflers don't really do that. I want a good sounding system, then go from there with performance.

well its the flowmaster 40. and yes it has a low bass sound. but if i was you, id do a magnaflow muffler with a manual cut out. that way you have the performance, and when you want it loud all you have to do is take off the cap. i just got done installing a cut out on my truck, and ill be putting a magnaflow muffler on next week
