I think the biggest factor is just to make sure you buy the right size pipe. If its to big you'll loose all of your back-pressure which is bad.

I'm sure someone will reply with some more info.

been running a true dual on my 97 4.6 for years now with no problems at all. i had the stock y pipe cut off and put the true dual on with glasspacks and side exhaust. used 1.5" pipe and it pulls good. really can feel it come to life at the 2000 rpm range. i love it. it also has 295-70-16's on it and an edge programmer set for the second level along with a cold air kit. runs great at 173000 miles.

Hi, did you mean to say 2&1/2 inch pipe?

as long as all the piping is 2.5", tip size wont affect back pressure but tailpiping needs to be 2.5

*sighs*

Exhaust gas velocity, not backpressure.

I'd go with 2.25" pipes.
