Everything I heard is you should run an X-pipe (which I did on my mustang and it sounded great) also I dont know what size pipeing hes going to run I know my catback pipeing is 2 1/2..
True duels with straight will be pretty loud!! It should sound bad a$$ though. I would definately get the X-Pipe with your true duels. It will sound better.

I agree the X-Pipe will make it little more quiet but the tone is better and it's more even. I know for a fact mine was not as loud after i added the X-Pipe.
Also i am pretty sure on your 2000 the pipe is 2 1/4 if he cuts it at the factory Y-Pipe. Cheack my gallery for pics.
You need to decide if you want true duels or just take the muffler off.

That is one thing I forgot to ask I'll have to go look if its 2 1/4 or 2 1/2. Now from where the muffler would be back is 2 1/2 stainless from my magnaflow catback I had on there. As for power it still jumps from the start and I've always been impressed with the power from the 5.4L

I have single out 3" straight pipe from the stock y-pipe and stock cats. I love it. Loud and sounds great. I did have si/so magnflow before, and i thought it was waaay too quiet.
