Intake help needed

I want to add a CAI to my 06 SCrew. It has the 5.4 in it and I am leaning toward the AF1. I know there are many threads addressing the lean condition other CAI systems can cause. Is this an issue with the 06 F150s? Is Troyer the only place you can buy the AF1?

Thanks in advance for responding.

i just installed the aem brute froce cai and i love it. i can tell a difference in the power and it sounds awesome when you give it some gas. the best thing about it is that it is a dry filter.

I think the lean conditions were more on the 04 and some 05s. Other places sell the AF1. If you dont get a custom tune get the 3'' AF1.

I have a 04 with a edge programmer installed. I am also thinking about putting a AF1 in. Are you saying it will cause a lean condition or may cause a lean condition in this model year? Is there any way around this lean condition other than the obviouse and leave the stock intake.
Is there anybody else out there that has a AF1 in there 04 5.4 that can responed to this issue.

Thanks.

No im not saying it will, but be careful because the 04 are known to run lean so it may run lean. My truck ran fine with the Edge and Magnaflow si/so but the S&B leaned it out. I called Edge and talked to the tech support and they told me they had no intentions of releasing any tunes for our truck to exept aftermarket parts. So to be safe I sold the Edge and am now waiting on a custom tune.

Nice one 05supercrew. I think ill hold off on the AF1 then as it may cause the lean condition you experianced with your S&B. I think ill get a magnaflow next and then a AF1 and a custom tune. I think from what you are saying is that Troyers custom tune can get around this lean condition when running a AF! or S&B or any other aftermarket cai.

Thanks.

If you go with Troyer he will send you a form to fill out and will ask every question regarding your truck (4 pages). Then he will tune for all your mods. The Edge was great for what I bought it for because I wasnt going to mod my truck but things change
