Which intake is going to give me the most power???
Which intake is going to give me the most power???
I got an 07 5.4L 4x4 and I'm looking for an intake that will give me some xtra power. Just wondering before I buy one, what's going to get me the most power. If anyone is running a good setup with their intake and are pleased, please let me know...
thanks
thanks
Bascailly it all comes down to what you like. All aftermaket intakes will net you about the same hp give or a take a lil between each intake.
I persoanlly chose the AF1 after doing a couple months of reasearching. 1. I have heard nothing but good things about the intake, 2. you can get a bigger diameter piping if you want to get a lil more power (Tuning required), 3. looks good w/ the stainless steel tube, and 4. the price was pretty fair.
Also, I actaully just installed the intake last night and let me just say, the truck sounds amazing when going WOT. According to my butt dyno, I have diffenetly gained some horses in the mid to high end powerband.
Hoped that helped

Above is a link and video that compares Outlaw Power, Volant, and stock intakes. It was dyno'ed on a member's F150.

For what I have heard is that the AF1 and Outlaw are some power monsters, but for what I have read in Fourwheeler magazine is that the pwr differences are not all that noticable between many CAI's.
That it typically comes down to personal preference...given that you buy a reputable brand, just don't go and buy one of those cheap eBay intakes that someone made in their garage. Their cheap for a reason...
I am looking into buying the S&B intake system #75-5016. I like the way it looks and it has been shown to dyno at a 17 hp increase

Cheap ebay intakes are more likely to be made in a huge factory in China that is selling for less money than an American company can buy the raw materials. i.e. they have ultra low labor costs. That's why the high labor/gigafast CPU's and PC's that you are using are made in Asia.
The main problem with the cheap ebay intakes is that I have never seen a real dyno plot from them. For that matter I have never seen a dyno plot for the S&B and AF1 either!
I'm not saying that a dyno plot doesn't exist for the S&B and AF1...I have just never seen one. Have you?
I HAVE seen dyno plots of the Outlaw Power cold air intake and of the AEM warm air intake.
