Question about headers...

Im thinking about headers but not sure. Right now I have a SI/DO magnaflow exhaust. Would longtubes bolt right up my existing exhaust or would I have to change everything? Any comments about longtubes and this type of exhuast would be appreciated. Also, I have an EDGE programmer...would I have to get rid of this and get a custom tune if I would go this route? Thanks for any help...

Any tips or tricks while installing these. I was thinking about doing them but I think it would be a PITA. I was looking at it almost looks like it might be easier by goin through the wheel well

No leaks at all. Buy new ford oem manifold gaskets, they will never blow out. No problems at all. I have about 50k miles on them.

wow I'm impressed they haven't burnt through or anything after that many miles. I think I may have to invest in a set of them. How much did you pay for the gaskets and what studs did you use?

Long tube headers are a bolt on. they bolt on in place of the factory stuff, just like any bolt on you may have already. you would not have to get a custom tune but you would have to get some MIL eliminators to shut off the rear oxygen sensors. A custom tune would take full advantage over the long tubes, but you should reset your computer once installed so it relearns the long tubes quicker and easier.

I got the long tubes with high flow cats and no cel at all... My factory gaskets were like $20.... a custom tune would be better, but its not 100% needed
