Exhaust Tip

I currently have 2.25" piping and need to change my tips due to rust.. (Chrome and minnesota winters=RUST) oh well, but my main question is would a 2.5" inlet tip be able to fit nicly on to a 2.25" pipe? My reason being that I want my tips to look like this guys:

Or do I need to get a setup leaving me with 2.5" pipes at the end??

One thing is certain.. I need HELP!! Thanks in advanced
