Arrow Exhaust kit welds?

Hi everybody
I just recently bought an 04 fx4 supercrew with a magnaflow single in/dual out catback setup. The exhaust was installed on the truck when it was brand new and now the tail pipes have rusted thru in 2 places. For the time being I have just put on a 3" exhaust clamp to fix my problem. As far as performance gains it looks like a kit is my best, but I have been reading that with the kits that you have to weld the joints to prevent them from seperating. Will welding the joints cause the new pipe to rust thru or will I just get surface rust. I live in Indiana & the weather is terrible on exhausts. If anyone has any info please let me? thanks

I seriously doubt that it is a Magnaflow true catback as they are built from
T304 Stainless and will NOT rust or Rot.....

the weld will, unless you use stainless wire.

I installed a Magnaflow cat back in November I was told of the terrible power loss caused by the Flow master system the Magnaflow system is covered in rust, the muffler looks good but the pipes are terrible. I am glad that I saved the old Flow master system, it was like new and I saw no power improvement between the two systems. I might add that the Flow Master has a much nicer sound.

yes you are correct, it was not a complete magnaflow kit. Only the muffler is a maganflow. The exhaust tubing is whatever the shop installed. Out of curiousity how long does the aluminized steel tubing usually last? 2 local mufller shops told me for in Indiana that 3 years is average life of of the piping.
