I did pretty much the same thing on my '02 4.6
All it's good for is making more noise.
It doesn't make the engine breathe any easier, if it doesn't need any more air in the first place...which an otherwise stock 4.6 does not need.
Even the fanciest, most complete true CAI kits that not only feed the engine less restricted, cooler air, but also use larger throttle bodies/MAFs etc. and make changes to the computer tuning, only usually see several HP. You won't even feel the difference of a couple of HP.
