Smile Exhaust Question

I have a Gibson dual sport on my 07 screw 5.4. It is just too loud in the cab, terrible drone around 2100-2500 rpm's. I was looking at the CORSA or BORLA systems. Just wondering if anyone had any opinions to help me decide. I would like some nice sound minus the drone. I don't know if it matters, but I have a AEM Brute Force intake installed and a custom chip from Troyer on order.

Thanks

Alot of the cab "drone" noise is likely coming from the aftermarket intake, and while the exhaust is definately helping to amplify the noise via easier flow, a different muffler may not solve the drone issue. In fact, It will simply 1.modify the sound of the "drone" or 2.make it more evident at a different RPM regular. I've yet to hear any of our trucks with an aftermarket intake that did not raise cab noise.

I just removed my AEM BruteForce intake from my 2004 5.4, that thing was obnoxiously noisy and I didn't have a custom tune so I wanted to avoid the lean condition. I'm glad I removed it, no noticeable loss in power. I'm testing gas mileage now.

Jump on the highway and you'll notice your loss of power right away. High flow Intakes (which is what they really are), in my experience, do not help with 0-60 but rather 40-60 or 60-80 and so on... Some of the highflow intakes can even cause a loss of 0-60 power.

wait until you get your tuner and the tunes installed (the timing change will change the exhaust note and may reduce your drone in the cab) then make your decision about changing the muffler.

If you change your exhaust I would say instead Flowmaster or Magnaflow, but of the two you suggested, Borla.
