true dual fm50 dumps, cutting cats to loud?

I have a 2002 5.4ltr with dual flowmaster 50's dumped behind the axle. When I had the setup installed I asked for an x-pipe to be added because the driver side has alot of travel before it exits where as the passanger side is almost a straight shot. Long story short it didnt happen, So I am going to have one installed (I have noticed a power loss I am not happy with) and was wondering if losing my cats would make it to loud. My buddy just had his system done on his ram si/do with no cats and it sounds good! I just wanted to know if anyone is running something like what I am talking about, or have heard something similar? I goto drop her off wednesday so shoot.

p.s long tubes in the future, how soon not quite sure, this roof is expinsive!

NEVER, too loud is never a possibility. Ridding yourself of cats will do it for sure, long tubes even moreso, go for it.
