06 Screw Magnaflow Install

Just a little blog:

Exhaust Folder

Shown in my folder is my Factory/OEM exhaust removal and installation.

Once the truck was up, it took me 20 minutes to remove the factory system. I removed the rubber in the hangers to keep the orientation right for the install. I had the rears on ramps but had difficulty removing the exhaust in one piece. I found that I jacked up the front end just so the tire ALMOST cam off the ground. This raised the front of the truck enough to twist and pull to the front with no problems.

I stated early since UPS was 'out for delivery' on my MAGNAFLOW 16614. Now that the factory removal took absolutely no time, I am just waiting for delivery.

While putting my pics on here UPS came !
Whoooop!
BRB...

DONE !
20 mins to remove the factory, 2 hrs to install the new and align. Not too bad for going solo and being my 'first time'. Don't it sound like a late night DVD commerical?

Looks great! Have you put the spare back on there to check how much clearance you have? Looks like install wasn't too bad. I am still debating myself whether to get this system or not. How do you like the new sound?

I really like the new sound. There is a decent amount of space between the spare and the hanger/system, bout 2 - 1 1/2. Not much clearance and you WILL have to remove it to install.

I will take a picture of the clearance later, gotta run to the store for the residential dictator. Shhhh don;'t tell her I said that.

I installed my system on Tuesday. It took longer to remove the stock exhaust than it did to install the new system. I also did it alone. I love the sound. The only problem I have is that the driver side tip rattles against the rear bumper every once in a while. I am going to try adjusting the hanger and pipes when I get home tonight.

Congrats on the new system!

Congrats on the new system!
You too!

I made mine so I can just get my fingertip between the tip and the bumper if I do it real hard. It is close but hasn't rattled yet. But then again, I have only been on 2 trips so far.

As wow does it stink with that mandrel oil.

I also have the 16614 installed on my truck. I had to put the hanger on the drivers side on the opposite side of the frame then the passenger side to get the pipes to be even and the spacing around the spare tire, (at the back of the truck). I also had to go back and tighten the clamps about a week later. The sound is so nice, its nice and mellow and then you get on it and it shows off the power of our 5.4L!!!!!!!

I read a post recently where a guy said he installed the magnaflow system and hadn't turned on his radio in a week. I installed mine 4 days ago and I completely understand what he means. It sounds great.

Got it from performancepeddler.com Go on there, before check out it has a spot for something like 'best offer'. Make it something like $300 and they will return a low price. Good deal IMHO. I guess they sell it for that since they can not advertise at the lower price they return via email.

Dunno, I would call/email MagnaFlow and ask.
Or even the seller so if it is wrong, maybe he can make it right.

You are gonna ruin your chrome bumper with the heat from the exhaust.
