new intake
The most popular options are:
Open air filter intake systems: AFE, AEM, AF1. The AF1 is the most popluar here for some reason even though nobody has posted a dyno...not even a manufacturer's dyno.
Enclosed air filter intake systems: Outlaw Power, Volant. Both are similar except that you can get the Outlaw Power with the NeverOil filter.

The AF1 is the one I went for when I first got my truck and so far have been satisfied with everything, looks, performance, sound, and haven’t had any problems. I got mine from Troyer Performance
I have the AF1 3.5 tube. It's great except for the custom tuning. I have the custom tuning, but when I go back to the dealer I need to put it back to stock. Troyer hooked me up with a stock tune with the AF1 3.5 fix, but what if the dealer flashes my comp when it goes back am I screwed? I might be willing to trade my 3.5 tube for a 3 tube.
ski, my understanding is that if you just reset your tune to stock before you visit the dealer then they can reflash all they want and no harm done, just put back in your custom tunes once you pick the truck up from 'em..

That would work good. So, your saying use the custom tune the whole way to the dealer then in the parking lot just return to stock. It wouldn't hurt in stock when the move it around since it will be lean, or do u have to drive it a little ways for a lean condition to hurt?
It surely won't hurt anything for the dealer to drive into the service bay in a lean condition, what's that like 30 seconds run time?
I believe that's exactly what most folks with custom tunes do, set back to stock in the parking lot then back to custom once the dealer's done servicing..
Anyone please correct me if I'm wrong here!!

Hi Tex & Ski...
Guys - if you return a truck with a 3.5" AF1 to stock, it will definitely run lean, how lean & how long it would take to set a CEL (if it sets one at all) is anyone's guess. I agree, though, if they only run it for a minute, probably no biggie... Nice that you've got a corrected stocker...
The REAL problem, however, Ski, is that if the Dealer decides to reflash your PCM, you will probably (make that extremely likely) need new custom tunes, as the ones you have now will not be compatible with the new strategy that will be installed in your PCM. Your custom tunes are matched to the specific 7 digit strategy code that was in your PCM at the time the tunes were written; a dealer reflash will change that code & your tunes will no longer work properly, if at all.
Best to insist upon them NOT to reflash - you don't need it done anyway if things are running good. It's not worth all the hassle.
Cheers

Hi.
I believe Ski's asking two questions (one elsewhere).
AF1 3.5" + custom tune = ok ( custom tune corrects TF; adds fuel)
AF1 3.5" + stock tune = lean (stock tune has wrong TF - runs too lean)
Stock intake + custom tune (designed for AF1 3.5") = pig rich (custom tune is expecting an AF1 3.5" installed; provides wrong TF & too much fuel, runs rich)
ok? Someone wanna check my logic? Thanks!
cheers
