What Would Be More Cost Effective??

I would like to get a dual in, dual out exhaust system with dual mufflers and a good throaty sound. Would it be more cost effective to purchase a kit, or have a muffler shop custom build one. I know that with a custom build I can get the pipes out the back behind the tires pointing sideways. Also if it would be more cost effective to purchase a kit...where and what recomendaitons?? I have a 4.6 ltr. 2001 Ext. Cab, Regular Bed. I have not been able to find a kit that will fit my truck...only supercrews w/ a shortbed (or is that the same thing)

I think It will be more cost effective to have a muffler shop custom build one.

I agree. If you go with a custom exhaust you'll get exactly what you want too

Regular/Short bed

It's my understanding that what Ford refers to as the "short bed" is the 6.5' bed. What exactly they call the 5.5' bed I don't know...worthless, maybe?

Thanks guys, I didn't know that the 6.5 was the short bed, that really does not make ANY sense what so ever, I always thought I was just fleet style regular bed. Theres a custom shop near my house, where I am getting my ranch hand front bumper replacement, they said that they know a few good muffler shops.

You'll be better off getting a custom shop to do the exhaust. Order your parts and have them put it on. I have $187 in my custom Magnaflow exhaust.

I don't believe a Cat-Back bolt-on system is an option, since you want a DIDO set-up. I believe all the Cat-Backs are SIDO or SISO.
