K&N oil for a Volant filter?

I have a Volant, but dont really want to spend money on a volant filter charging system, if I can use the K&N charging system that I already have. I dont care what color it makes my filter, I just want to make sure that it will still function effectivly. Any opinions?

I guess the PC thing to do is to follow manufacturer's recommendations, but if the Volant has a multi-layer cotton gauze filter media, I don't see why not.

Folks have used the K&N kit on S&B filters too.

The only one I know that has a problem is TrueFlow - they stipulate that you MUST use their specific cleaner ( it's not cotton, though).

Volant (AFE filter) and K&N buy oil from the exact same oil formulator. They use slightly different formulations based on company philosophies but they will work interchangably. No problem, go for it.

I guess I will take your word for it. I should have a pretty purple filter when I get done adding redish pink oil to a blue filter. :o
Thanks for the reply
