Headers for 2001, 5.4
Headers for 2001, 5.4
Hey guys,
Around Christmas time I installed my Magnaflow 15749, it sounds great but I wanna get rid of my exaust manifold and put on some nice headers for the performance. A few more pay checks have rolled in and I was wondering wether long tube headers or shorty headers perform better, sound better, and what brand isn't gonna crack on me? I read thru many reports that the Pacesetters were cracking. Don't wanna pay 150-300$ for something thats gonna break in 4 months. Also what 'Y' pipe am I gonna need, will the ones that Magnaflow offers be compatable with the headers or does it not matter? Or can I just not do any of this because I bought the wrong exhaust to make use of the headers? Thanks for any help.
I'll add the link to the 15749s:

Most will tell you that the long tubes will get you better performance than the shorties. What's the point of installing headers if they don't improve hp & tq. I'm waiting for the right deal, then LTs are going on my truck.
