lost mpg after dual exhaust

After installing true dual fl mstr 40s w/ x-pipe mpg went from close to 17 to barely 16. Shouldn't mpg increase w/ dual exhaust? any suggestions? this is on a 5.4 engine

Black smoke is not good. You may have a sticking injector, or some other problem.

I'd get that checked out first.

The slowmasters at work. the 40 series if for noise only thats all you gain is sound. if you wanted a performance muffler should have went with a Magnaflow.

Dude, you're talking about less than 1 mpg. That's funny.

I never had black smoke after my duals.

I never picked up anything with the FLows on my last truck. Picked up almost 1.5 MPG with my Mag.
