Installed Magnaflow 12256

Today I had my stock muffler cut out and added a Magnaflow 12256 muffler in. I love the sound and it is quite. Not much louder than stock.Overall I am very happy. Love that deep Magnaflow sound maybe later on I might add the 14" which is a little louder.

Hey fellas glad to hear you have your mufflers installed now.

Questions If I may?
1)What made you decide on the 5'' x 8'' Oval Muffler instead of 4" x 9 Oval Muffler?"
2)Do you feel you made the right choice with the 18" or wish 14" would have given you what you wanted?
3)Does it have a nice rumble at idle and when you "gun-it" without the drone effect?
4)Any gas mileage improvements?
5)Any sound clips available for us to listen to?

I was considering the Dynomax bullet but after consulting with a Dynomax sales advisor, he stated the bullet will attract the attention of the smokeys out there. I do not need that kind of "HEAT" on me.

thanks...

5x8, 4x9 went with what the shop had. went with the 18" as the 14" is to loud for me and the 22" was to quiet. Don't know about the drone, I can hear the exhaust at 70-75 but then I would expect to. (if that is what drone is)

I have an 05 4.6L and I am going to be replacing the stock muffler, about how much hp do you gain from adding this muffler?

To tell you the truth I didnt noticed no gain or loss in anything. I do like the sound but it is quite. If want some rumble get the 14"

specifically the 12256

I keep seeing the 12256 mentioned. Is that easiest configuration to install that matches the stock muffler??

I have a 2003 with 5.4 and I think I want a muffler only job with magnaflow 12256 or equivalent.

tldga3, i got the maggnaflow 11236 14" 4x9 muffler that will be going on my truck( 02 with 5.4) tomorrow night, ill let ya know what i think of it. it matches the stock muffler pretty good, but your gonna need about 18" of 2.5" pipe cuz its a lot shorter than the stock humongo muffler. im goin for a nice rumble at idle, roar when i gun it, but quiet when im not on it.

I have the Magnaflow dual cat back that I guess is the 12256 [bought the truck with the exhaust on it] because it has a great rumble that is not too loud and sometimes I wish it was a little louder. I was going to go with Gibbson because I thought the Magnaflow would be too loud.

tldga, i just got a chance to get on the site, and my install of the 11236 14" 4x9 muffler, went great, all welded up, and it sounds mean at startup, mean at WOT, and i cant even hear it when cruising on the highway or interestate. im SUPER happy with it and would recommend it to anyone!
