Horsepower
Horsepower
This question is directed to anyone who has p/p there upper plenum, tb, and possibly even removed runner length in the lower plenum. How much of an increase did you see? I have a 2001 supercrew with a 5.4l 4r70w and 3.55 gears. I have installed headers, catback exhaust, diablo tuner with a dyno tune.
bbk under drive pulleys, pacesetter intake, iridium tipped plugs one heat range cooler. The truck pulls good on bottom but never turns on out. I am fully aware of this engines design. I would like to here from someone who has tried cams, and intake porting, and heads. Not real radical but something more.
To sum it all up i am tired of pulling people taking off to have the come screaming past me at 55-70 mph range.

Don't want to get rid of 3.55 gear. I like the low rpm's at interstate speed.
openclasspro#11-This may be true but i believe that shortening them an inch or two will increase mid-range power. has anyone done this?
built54-thats a nice mod list ever run it at the track. also what gear and convertor are you running.

openclasspro#11-thanks man thats what i wanted to find out. What i was gonna do is find a spare lower plenum shorten it and see what happens. Also if i remember right that dodge intake ain't that bad from the factory. runners not very long from the factory? Had a friend with a dakota r/t he tried one of those mopar intakes and it helped him none at all. do you or anybody else know how long these 5.4 runners are?
