I read that with the 4.6 you may have to lift the engine to put in the headers. Is this true or is it to put on shortys? I could have been drinkin again because that was the real hold back for me.

I'd definitely try it yourself. Paying someone to do it for that price is crazy. Unless you aren't that mechanically inclined. I will certainly test your patience, but you also get the satisfaction of doing your own work. Just make sure you use quality gaskets and fasteners. You don't want to have to redo the work anytime soon. Good Luck!

I don't post on here very often and as of latily, I've not been on much, however I can tell you that in my 98 and my father's 98, I had to lift the engine just a little and remove the upper right side engine mount to be able to get to the bottom header bolt on two of the cylinders. It isn't that difficult, you can rent an engine hoist for next to nothing. Only have to lift the engine about 2-4 inches on the right side, don't even have to remove the mount bolt on the left side.
