Throttle body spacer question....

Exclamation Throttle body spacer question....

i have a throttle body spacer...is it worth keepin it on or not...i dont really feel any difference in power or acceleration...?

The difference in power is so minute. If it's a pain to remove, I would keep it on.
If not, I would remove it. You could probably sell it. Your move, though. Just my opinion.

Could somebody explain to me what exactly a Throttle Body spacer 'supposivly' does and how it is supposed to work? All I have seen about them is its a waste of cash.

they are saposed to spin the intake air charge and this spinning affect is saposed to better atomize the fuel air mixture, now on carbarated engines this does mix the fuel air better, but on modern fuel enjected engines the fuel is enjected into the combustion chamber so the spinning does nothing. the throttle body spacer actually slows down the intake air volocity and will cost you a few HP, i would take it off as soon as you have the time it is hurting your performance

we did a dyno test on a chevy once. tried it on three trucks. it lost 1hp on each truck. they do make a nice looking paperweight.

ok im convinced to take it off...now i need to know do i need to replace the gasket for my throttle or reuse the one i have on there now with the spacer...?
