do we need mil eliminators?

I removed my cats on my 99 Lightning cos they were clogged, no check engine light but does it set the computer to turn off some of the cylinders in a limp home mode? Ive read so many posts and some say it does some say not, what is the definitive answer?

Thanks

Mark

yes and no..... the front o2s are the ones that control your engines computer for air fuel mix so cutting the cats off wont effect them, the back 2 are there just to tell u if the cat is working. since u have no cat obviously they read it as bad and will flip on a light. the rears DONT effect air fuel mix tho so performance wise no you dont need them, to turn off you mil if ur check engine light has a code for them then yes u need them
