i have a few questions:

Do you have any performance numbers for a 2004 F150 5.4?
You say this will NOT create a lean condition, correct?

I have the superchips programmer with the level 3 setting in my truck with 93 octane fuel if that matters. Also i live in southern GA.

Any info is greatly appreciated.

I want to know this exact same information. I have an '04 F150 with the 5.4 also and I am concerned about getting a CEL. From what I can see here the new intake is designed NOT to cause the lean condition but I just want to make sure. I would also like to know what the warranty is IF I get a CEL.

i ordered mine today, when i get it and install it i'll let you know if i get a cel and how it performs. I didn't get a tracking number if it was shipped or an email of when it would be shipped so i have no idea when it will be here.

I have the Superchips programmer on my 07 5.4 and did not get a CEL after the install. I will say that between the tuner and the intake the truck really comes alive. All the talk about this intake causing a lean A/F condition just isn't occuring.

Without data, you can't possibly say that with any certainty.

Couple things ...

You have an '07 - 'looser' CEL tolerances.

A lean condition does not always set a CEL. You can only determine if one exists for sure by direct measurement.

See --> https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...6&postcount=20

MT has determined, when he tested this intake, that the S&B does in fact need some tweaking of the MAF TF.

You are taking a calculated risk - perhaps a minor one in your case, or not - (you don't know what your A/F's actually are).

All the above has already been discussed/explained many times - search.

Good luck.

Newbie here with questions for those that have S&B Intake

Not trying to take over thread, but figured this was better than starting a new one. I just bought an 07 Lariat screw, and I am thinking about getting the S&B intake, but I have a few questions about them for those that have them:

1. Any gain in performance?

2. More importantly, any gain in MPG?

3. How much louder is it over stock in normal city driving? Cruising on Highway?

4. I here a few concerns over leaning the motor, anything to this?

5. Any additional wear and tear using an aftermarket CAI in general, I hope to have this truck a while.

Thanks for your help in advance!!

Hi.

On point four - a repost for both you and LegIron...

https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...71&postcount=8

And - another newer one that explains in detail ...

https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...6&postcount=20

Any more questions on this - just all TP.

Your other q's have already been answered in other recent S&B posts - just use search.

Good luck.
