Very nice looking!

Where is the MAF sensor mounted? I can't see it in the pics.. is it the same orientation as the stock intake was?

It is in the third pic "Throttle Body and MAF".

The OEM position of the MAF was in the 'barrel of monkeys' exit behind the filter.

Got it from JusnesModified but I had a problem. The thing was so new for my truck that They had to drop -ship from S&B. S&B took their time shipping. $$ is on the jusnesmodified site. I was expensive but WTH.

I love the way it looks. One of the reasons I got it vs the others. I also wanted an enclosed. Im just old-shool like that I guess.

Throttle response is much better. Don't know about PG. I haven't even been through a tank yet to check mileage. I'll probably have to wait till the second anyways since I am on the throttle a little more. I notice the pickup by SOP feel. I also think it has much better acc and moreso after 55 MPH. It really seems to keep going.

AS A SIDE NOTE:
I do get a loud buzz at one certain RPM range when taking off from a stop. I know it is under a moderate load since it is under a decent amount of acceleration. I am not sure if the CAI is making the buzz or if it is a resonance causing something else to do it.

I've checked mounting 3x now. The rubber ring going into the fender is good and all mounting bolts are tight. The box mounts to where to original barrel-o-monkeys filter was in rubber mounts. This is on ONE side only of the entire box. The other end is kinda suspended by the rubber funnel ring mounted on the fender side of the box.

I am thinking of buying a small piece of dynamat and placing it on the plate the OEM filter was mounted, right on top of the drivers fender. I think the box may be vibrating on the other end that is not mounted causing the buzz.

Anyone know if the dynamat will hold up to under hood temps? I am really not sure exactly what dynamat is but to reducing body panel vibrations. I don't know what it feels or is made like. Any other suggestions on a thin piece of rubber mat to cushion the S&B box and the top of the drivers fender mounting plate?

Oh well that sucks.
I guess I will be removing it this week, bummer.
Wish I would have stumbled across it prior. I just had searched and read that both were equally as good . I thought the AF1 had slightly better performance, not the S&B leans out the engine.

EDIT:
So really only the AF1 is the only good intake? Everything else will lean out, kill O2 sensors and foul plugs? That info should be a sticky. I must have read only what I wanted to hear/read LOL

Oh well, maybe I can ask $225 for it.

Sweet looking intake. I have been thinking about ordering that same kit for my 05 4.6L. Can you use this with out any custom tunes? Did you have any issues with the install?

No tunes.. YET

I never installed an intake before and only had to look at the instructions for the right rubber/adapter pieces.

SUPER-EASY install.

I haven't tried it yet. Wondering what people though first with the heat issues. I was thinking that I may stick it to the box itself vs the platform.

I looked for a nice piece of thin rubber. I couldn't find any at HomeDepot. They asked what applicaiton I needed it for and they looked at me like I was crazy.

I did order some tunes and an XCal 2 from Troyer. it will be 5 weeks from what they told me.

Any other suggestions for the rubber mat? I don't wanna go too ghetto and use a thin cheap welcome mat. LOL
