Louder!!

Hi,

I have a 98 f-150 with a 5.4, true duals and 18" glasspacks out the sides. I am considering either running no mufflers, gutting the pre-cats, or just flipping my bottles for now. I would like it a little more throatier at the lower rpm's and a bit louder at the top end. I was just wondering what you guys would suggest. Any power losses by gutting the pre-cats?? thanks.

Just take the glass packs off. I wouldn't do the cats. I cut 2 off my last truck. I could tell the drop in TQ when I left the muffler shop.

rn no mufflers dumped, will definatly be loud. & yeah gutting the pre-cats has been known to lose some torque, I know someone who said they lose some, ut wat a sound difference though.

Hi,

Ya I do want it louder and throatier, but I don't want to lose any performance as I do it. I think I would rather keep it the way it is now then sacrifice some power for sound. Thanks.
