Talking True Duals

If i get true duals, i know i would have alot of noise in the cab and thats fine. but is there any other way to make my truck louder? I have flowmaster 30's and they sound fine but not loud enough for my tastes. My brother had a old ford truck with a 4 barrell carb with headers with straights and you could hear him over a mile away. I like that but i just want a more aggressive tone. help me please

I've got true duals with no mufflers on my '00 with a 5.4. Real nice idle and sound. It's real aggressive especially when you get on it. There is only a little drone at highway speeds and it's barely noticable. Go for it!

I'm with everyone with the run true duals without mufflers, and maybe dump them at the axle, though the cops will really be on you for that, not on you as in ticketing, but they will keep giving you warnings about it being too loud.

Gutting front cats will sound good too, if you have the cash, go for longtube headers too, gain power & sound.

I was just talking to the guys who put my duals on about getting my flowmaster super 40's taken off and running straight pipes. They said you would get alot of pop and backfires is this true? Or does it sounds pretty good and not super redneck like he was saying.

Thanks

I had 40 series Flows on my last truck. I had a 5.0. I had some popping at higher rpm's, between 4-5k. If I kept down under 3k it did it occasionally. Running no mufflers is louder than I want now. I like sound, not loud.

I wouldn't gut the cats, especially if you have inspections. Gutting will make it louder, at the loss of torque. I cut 2 cats off my last truck and I could tell as soon as I left the muffler shop.

kinda off the subject but thats my dream system right there

Reved up to like 6,000rpms might make a backfire, and might have some popage going on, but some people like the popig, I dont though, I hate that lol.
