Roush Cold Intake

Does anyone use the Roush Performance CAI? It seems like it would be a fairly good deal with the heatshield and non-oiled filter. I scanned through the forum but didnt really see anything about it.

Roush CAI

Anybody with any experiance?

Brian

its been dicussed before.. if your compare it you will see that its pretty much just an Airaid intake with the roush logo on it.. And it costs quite a bit more than the Airaid kit.

I got one for my 5.4 off ebay for $260 w/ shipping(buy it now).It just came in yesterday and I was too lazy to install it.Maybe today after work.
I think the seller is roushparts 24?It only took 3 days to get it.

Here's a pic of the Roush CAI installed on my 5.fo
The Roush badge isn't shaped like the Air Raid badge like the one pictured on the Roush website. But otherwise it's the same kit.

It is oiled.I thought it was dry when I first got it because it was dry to the touch and didn't even smell oily. But after more research I found out it is oiled.
The only trouble with oiled filters is when people clean them and over oil them.If you do over oil it then the worst that can happen is you may need to take the mass air flow sensor off and clean it,no big deal.Just don't over oil it.

Ok, well here's some news for you '07 owners.

The Roush intake kit I was sent for my '07 DOESN"T FIT!

My dealer tried to install it today, and apparantly the location of the throttle body has changed a bit on the '07's, so now the intake kit won't line up properly to fit and work. So in the morning they are contacting Roush to see if there is an updated adapter or tube to fit the newer '07's. Hopefully they have a solution.

Damm.....had everything else done today except that.

Question

I was also looking at the Roush CAI for my '04 Supercrew. If this is not one of the better ones, which is?

I am also looking at adding the Helix Tower Power in addition to the CAI. Does anyone have this on their truck or know how well it works?
