poping noise?

ok, so today i get in my truck, and when i barely reved it.....i heard this weird pop sound....almost like a rock thrown against metal coming somewhere from the exhaust....towards the muffler. Me and my friend look at each other and know that it didnt sound good at all....so i reved it a few more times....and it happened each time....finally, i reved it up to about 3000 rpms and it stoped....anyone know what it could be?
It wasnt a crackling sound, cause i know that almost all exhaust will do that.
My truck is an 06 with the stock exhaust.

THANKS!

stock exhaust & doing that? hmm... Dont really know what that could be other than something inside blocking, but being brand new I doubt anything could rust out.

Exclamation lose exhaust connection

I had the same problem with my 69' camaro and it is an easy fix. This popping noise is an exhaust leak. It is most likely leaking from a bolted joint such as the Header down pipe connection. get under the truck and try and tighten these bolts. If that doesn't work take it down to your local muffler shop and they should be able to fix it right up.
