Proper way to clean mass air flow sensor?

As the title says, looking for the proper way to clean the mass air flow sensor. It's my understanding that it should be cleaned when installing my Air Force intake.

Thanks in advance!!!

That thread is talking about the new body style MAF, the old body style has a very different one. This thread is more relevant and has some pics too.

Open the hood and locate your air box. If you can't find it, have a friend clean your MAF for you. Reach in and disconnect the wiring harness from the MAF. Remove the assembly. Locate the MAF and remove the two screws holding it in. The installation is the reversal.
