Intake Silencer Removal

Is there any benefits to removing the intake silencer on the stock 07 4.6L intake? Whats the best way to do this and what will the benefits be?

It will make your truck a little louder. Combine it with a K & N drop in or equivalent filter and aftermarket exhaust and it might give you a little more power. I couldn't tell any power difference, just louder. I did it before I replaced my stock muffler.

It was a pain to get out, took about 30 minutes. Here is the thread to find out how to do it.

I personally would not do it.There were no notcialble gains from it. My truck just sounded louder. I also seemed to lose a little on the low end. Maybe thats was just me. Its also a one way mod can't go back after its out.
