to just clean things up around the cats and split to run a second pipe straight back on the drivers side? Running a Flow 40 right now with stock figured it would not be so bad to run second pipe. And yes I know I screwed up the word exhaust above.

Yes it's very much possible. I would guess you will probably still want a X-pipe or some type of crossover to balance the exhaust pulses. Talk to a local exhaust shop. Those guys can usually help the most for custom stuff.

i had a local shop split my Y into a true daul system by cutting the pipe and turning it straight back into a magnaflow Xmuffler (the X is in the muffler, 2 in 2 out) the system then turns out in front of the tire. i could easely feel a difference in power and throttle response. AND all of this cost me 200 dollars. for the price i paid it was well worth putting this kind of system on i could post pics if interested. just email me.

What was your reasoning for coming out in front of the tire? In '97 Ford changed their exhaust to exit there but had problems (mostly in cold climate states) where the exhaust spewing out onto the wheel caused discoloring and pitting. There was even a TSB on it. Than in '98 they moved it back behind the wheel. I had them relocate it on my '97 if for nothing else to get it further away from the third door as I was always loading my kids up, usually after the engine was running and didn't need to have the fumes coming into the cab.

Any of the original guys still around here? Larry, Jean Marc, Steve?

i want to dual out mine with twin SISO mufflers and ill probably stay with 2.5" just b.c its cheaper materials cost.

Magnaflow has the best X pipe ive seen, they run about 85-90 on ebay or from summit.
